A WILD WORLD AWAITS YOU…

Know before you go…

ARK ADVICE…

1. We have regular feeding and training times for our animals at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm and 2:30pm every day during our standard open dates. November event times may vary. Be sure to check in with our Visitor Center to see which animals are featured each day!

2. Visiting early when we open and when it’s cool, will increase your chances to see our nocturnal predators active before they start their daily naps.

3. We have docents available throughout the day, so bring your questions!

4. Animal Ark’s Visitor Center is a great place for unique Animal Ark gifts, plushes, treats and even local artwork! Snacks are available for purchase including ice cream and small treats. All proceeds support Animal Ark’s mission!

5. Bring a picnic and enjoy lunch at our large picnic and playground area.

6. Our trail is approximately one mile of compact dirt and decomposed granite (DG). Wear comfortable walking shoes. Waterproof shoes are a great idea for post-snow conditions.

7. Strollers are permitted but the small-wheeled umbrella style strollers do not roll well on our trail.

8. In the case of inclement weather, check our social media outlets such as Instagram, Facebook, or the header on the homepage of our website!

9. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed in the park.

10. Want a more up close and personal experience with one of our animals? Check out our Meet and Greet page for more information!

11. Our facility is located outside of the Reno area by about half of an hour, and ride share or cab service rates and availability may differ from traditional in-town visits and are frequently unavailable. We recommend if you are using a ride-share service to book both your entry and return rides into town in advance as ride shares and taxis are often unavailable.

12. Please do not that there is limited to no wifi or cellular service available at most areas within the park.

Mobility Assistance Golf Cart Policy

Animal Ark offers a limited number of mobility assistance golf carts to help guests who have difficulty walking throughout the sanctuary.

These golf carts are reserved for guests with temporary or permanent mobility limitations that make walking the grounds difficult. Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Guests with a state-issued disability parking placard or license plate

  • Individuals recovering from recent surgery or an injury

  • Older adults with limited mobility

  • Guests with mobility limitations related to pregnancy

  • Other medical or physical conditions that significantly limit walking

Golf carts are not available solely for guest convenience or to reduce walking. They are not intended for guests whose primary concern is supervising children, carrying personal belongings, or avoiding the walking distance for reasons unrelated to mobility.

Because availability is limited, we ask all guests to help us ensure these accommodations remain available for those who need them most.

Animal Ark reserves the right to deny or discontinue golf cart use if it is determined the cart is being used outside of these guidelines or if safe operating procedures are not followed.

Thank you for helping us make Animal Ark accessible for everyone.

The cost per golf cart rental is $20 and each golf cart is limited to four passengers, including any children 5 years of age and older. Please email us at animalarkgiftshop@gmail.com or call 775-475-9626 at least 12 hours in advance to place a reservation if you run into any issues with our online booking portal. Please specify the date and time for the reservation, along with the number of people and a phone number to contact you.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT ANIMAL ARK!
