This is tremendous news for us – please, consider shopping at Whole Foods on Wednesday. You get great food, and Animal Ark gets a wonderful donation to keep our animals happy and well-fed this winter.

Press Release Below:

Whole Foods Market Community Giving Day benefits The Animal Ark! Wednesday, Nov. 30th

Whole Foods Market Reno has selected The Animal Ark Wildlife Sanctuary as the beneficiary of their Community Giving Day on Wednesday, November 30th. The Animal Ark will receive 5% of the market’s sales that day.

Although the Animal Ark is closed to the public at this time of year, the animals remain on site and the food bills continue throughout the winter season. To help them to keep warm, the wild residents actually consume more food than in the summer months.

Please join Whole Foods’ generosity by easily making your own contribution to the Animal Ark – simply plan your grocery shopping to take place Wednesday, November 30th. Their natural and organic food selections are beautiful, healthy, and nutritious. Find us at 6139 S. Virginia Street at Neil Rd.

“Whole Foods Market of Reno is so excited to be partnering with the Animal Ark this winter. We help to provide food for the animals throughout the year and we know the need is great through the winter months. Animal Ark provides a wonderful sanctuary for some of our area’s wildlife, and it is a great educational resource for our community; we hope to create awareness among our shoppers and are thrilled to be able to support services through the next few months.” Heidi Rich, Whole Foods Marketing & Communications Lead

From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Animal Ark staff will be on hand to share information with shoppers about the wildlife sanctuary. Live birds of prey will also be on exhibit to further our educational mission. Get up close and personal with these amazing birds!

Animal Ark is a nonprofit organization that houses animals that cannot be released back into the wild. Glass viewing areas offer visitors a window into nature as they see wildlife in natural habitat exhibits. Educational programming is scheduled for Washoe County schools throughout the year and special events offer recreation education for all ages during our open season, Apr – Oct, Tue.-Sun. 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. ?
