Thank you for your support of Monty.  Monty, as you may recall, came to Animal Ark with juvenile cataracts which required lens replacements in both eyes.  A few weeks ago, he showed a sudden discomfort in his left eye. Dr. Hewitt from Quail Ridge Animal Hospital cleared her schedule and came to Animal Ark to check on Monty.  We all expected it to be a simple matter of debris.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.  Monty was diagnosed with severe glaucoma requiring removal of the eye.  We were able to complete the surgery a couple days later.

Monty is recovering wonderfully and has happily rejoined his sister Maddison.  While removal of the eye affects his depth perception, his familiarity with his enclosure has proven useful – he’s not running into anything.

Your support truly makes a difference! Thank you for your love and care for Monty. If you would like to help cover the cost of his emergency surgery, please send checks payable to Animal Ark, P. O. Box 60057, Reno, NV 89506 or click below. His surgery cost ___. You can also bring him “get well” gifts when we open on Friday, November 28 or Saturday, November 29. He loves raw stew beef and chicken legs. Please, no pork.
