Funding Priorities for Parks, Trails, and Recreation

Thank you for your interest in Animal Ark, Inc.

This is what you can make happen with a grant of $1,000 to $10,000.  As of October 2013, our current funding priorities are:

  1. Conservation Corridor: Animal Ark currently owns 50 acres and operates on 38 acres.  Recently, The Nevada Trust for Public Lands purchased the 56 acres next to Animal Ark.  Animal Ark and the neighboring 56 acres back up to BLM land.  With the growing number of property fences in the area blocking wildlife movement, Animal Ark is seeking the funds to purchase this 56 acres and conserve it as a wildlife crossing.  We would also like to encourage new growth of plant life and establish a nature trail on the property.
  2. Nature Trail: Visitors to Animal Ark escape the concrete jungle and view our beautiful wildlife in their naturalistic enclosures.  Further, they learn about nature by interacting with our friendly docents, reading our interpretive signs, and interacting with exhibits.  Our natural, open setting enhances this experience.  Being an open setting, weather can damage our trails.  Your support can help rebuild areas affected by this severe weather, making our trails accessible to all, and installation of new interpretive signs and interactive exhibits.
  3. ???: Anyone !

What is Animal Ark?

Animal Ark, a wildlife sanctuary, inspires environmental stewardship through wildlife education.  Our nature center houses orphaned, injured, and otherwise non-releasable wildlife, mostly from North America.  These animals serve as ambassadors for their species, teaching guests and schoolchildren about our natural surroundings.  Our open, natural setting furthers this immersion experience.

We are a multifaceted organization.  Please use the Navigation on the side of this page to investigate the other aspects of our organization and related projects in need of support!
