Animal Ark A Sancuary for Life
ANIMAL ARK IS NOW OPEN. Animal Ark is a 38-acre wildlife sanctuary and nature center northwest of Reno, Nevada. This facility’s rural setting provides an ideal place to house non-releasable wildlife and allows the public a unique opportunity to view these animals in natural habitat exhibits through glass viewing areas.

At this special Cheetah Dash, you will get to meet world-renowned conservationist, Rebecca Klein. Not only will you have an incredible cheetah experience, but you will also hear from someone who works with cheetahs in the wild. Rebecca will share the challenges and hope of keeping this rare mammal alive in the wild in Botswana.
NOTE: Children must be at least 10 years old.

Milagro “Milo” Comes To Animal Ark
On February 5, 2008, this 7 month old mountain lion was hit by a car on Kingsbury Grade near Lake Tahoe while lying on the road after possibly being hit by an earlier passing vehicle. As the concerned driver turned around to come back and check on the animal, a passing snowplow pulled up to keep the kitten from being hit... full story

Animal Ark will begin a brand new series of shows focusing on various raptors and other birds. You will be amazed at the variety of birds and the acrobatic ability of these species. Animal Ark Purchases Our Land
Phase I of the Making Tracks for the Future Capital Campaign has been successfully completed with the purchase of the 38 acres of land that Animal Ark is built on. With support from the local community we raised over $115,000.00 which was then matched by a local foundation... full story

Operating Hours
Open Tuesday – Sunday
From 10:00 - 4:30
April 1 to November 2

We are also open Mondays for: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Columbus Day.

Animal Ark is closed during the winter; however we do try to open for one weekend depending on weather. This is a great opportunity to view the animals in their winter coats. Check our calendar or email us at info@animalark.org for more information.

From Reno: Take US 395 North to Red Rock Road (Exit 78). Turn right and drive 11.5 miles to Deerlodge Road. Turn right on Deerlodge Road, drive 1 mile and turn right into signed driveway.

It is advised to call ahead if there is any concern over inclement weather.
