Animal Ark A Sancuary for Life

We closed for the season on October 30, 2011.

Put on your winter coat and boots and join us for our next Wild Winter Weekend on February 18 and 19.

Reno's icy weather is perfectly comfortable for our lynx, bobcats, cougars, the Arctic wolf and Arctic fox, and several of our other wild residents. (The black bears and tortoises will be hibernating.) The Ark's winter wonderland is at 6,000 feet of altitude, so dress for outdoor fun in various conditions, including mud & snow. We encourage you to call prior to your departure, as severe weather or unsafe facility conditions will cancel the festivities.

LG/EliEli, the Miracle Bear!
Click here to see a video of Eli in his yard. Eli (or LG) came to Animal Ark in November 2010 as a 10-month old cub weighing 14 pounds. (At that age, a healthy cub should weigh 60-100 pounds). Animal Ark nursed him back to health and he is now a healthy, big black bear.
