Animal Ark A Sancuary for Life
Peregrine Falcon

Animal Picture Whoopi

Common Name: Peregrine Falcon
Scientific Name: Falco peregrinus
Gender: Female
Birth Date: 1992
History: In April 1993, this one year old falcon joined the Animal Ark family. She is a captive born bird and was raised by a local falconer. Unfortunately, she became blind in the left eye due to a cataract. The cause of this cataract remains a mystery but it has rendered Whoopi unable to live a normal life as a falconry bird or to be released into the wild. The falcon was donated to the Animal Ark and regularly participates in our educational programs.
